SUMMARY:THE GREAT VICTORIAN GHOST HUNT
DESCRIPTION:For the first time in history\, Samlesbury Hall is inviting the public to take part in a unique ghost hunting adventure like no other. \nLike psychical researcher Hereward Carrington\, spiritualist Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and spirit seeker Charles Dickens – who stayed at Samlesbury Hall in 1867\, perhaps as part of his personal fascination to find a genuine haunted house\, YOU can become part of Samlesbury Hall’s haunted heritage by taking part in The Great Victorian Ghost Hunt on Friday 13th March 2026. \nSamlesbury Hall is reputedly one of the most haunted houses in Britain with records of 13 different ghosts which are alleged to haunt the historic manor house and its grounds.  Published accounts of ghostly encounters at the hall date back to 1873\, the most famous of which is that of Lady Dorothea Southworth\, a young Elizabethan woman who fell in love with the wrong person and paid the price for doing so… \nPaul Howse from the Samlesbury Hall Ghost Project\, who have created the event said “Samlesbury Hall is one of the UK’s crown jewels in terms of supernatural heritage and as part of our 700th anniversary of the hall next year we thought it was about time we took our ghosts seriously.  There are countless ghost hunting teams in the UK\, but what we have created is totally unique in its approach.  Rather than walking around in the dark with gimmicky flashing boxes\, we are harkening back to the grand age of the Victorian era\, and using techniques and equipment that psychical researchers used in the past.” \nUsing only human senses and a specially commissioned set of Victorian age spirit investigation instruments which match their original Victorian design and engineering\, investigators will be able to use a ‘Tuttle Psychograph’\, ‘Winchester Séance Bell’\, ‘Kennard Talking Board’ along with a ‘Spirit Board’\, designed and created in London specifically for The Great Victorian Ghost Hunt. \nOther investigations have taken place at the hall over the years including television ghost hunting programmes like ‘Great British Ghosts’\, ‘Paranormal Captured’ and ‘Ghost Hunters International’ which called it ‘the most haunted place in Great Britain’\, but The Great Victorian Ghost Hunt will be the only event that allows those taking part to exclusively investigate the cellar and attic\, which are normally closed to the public\, and not available to other ghost hunting teams. \nThe Great Victorian Ghost Hunt is part of the Samlesbury Hall Ghost Project  which was set up to investigate the many stories of ghosts at the hall.  The intentions of the project are to record supernatural phenomena from historical and contemporary accounts and present it to the public through a series of tours\, lectures and publications. \nThe Great Victorian Ghost Hunt begins at 8.00pm and concludes at 01.00am.  Investigators will receive a Certificate upon completion of their investigation and hot soup\, roll and butter will be provided along with tea and coffee throughout the investigation. \nSamlesbury Hall is a 14th century manor house and reputedly one of the most haunted houses in Britain. \nMany people have spent the night in the building and claim to have experienced things beyond our normal range of human experience. \nFor those who are curious\, we invite you to take part in a Victorian style psychical investigation which authentically replicates the methods and approach taken by ghost hunters in the Victorian age. \nTERMS & CONDITIONS \n·       To protect our wooden floors no high heeled shoes are permitted. \n·       Please dress warmly as there is no heating inside the building at night. \n·       You are encouraged to bring with you cameras or phone cameras and we allow video and images to be captured during each of the investigations\, but not during the talk. \n·       Tea and coffee will be available during each of the scheduled break periods. \n·       Please bring a torch. \n·       As our intention is to replicate a Victorian style psychical investigation\, we do not use and do not allow any form of contemporary modern-day ‘ghost hunting equipment’ to be used.  The best tools are your eyes\, ears\, senses and our range of spirit investigation instruments which have been engineered in the same way they were in the late 19th century. \n·       The Great Victorian Ghost Hunt is open to those aged 16 years an over\, those aged under 18 must be accompanied by an adult over 18 on a ratio of 1/1. \nEXPECTATION \nThe event does not intend to prove or disprove the reality of ghosts\, instead it intends to observe anything that occurs and analyse the findings. \nWe give no guarantee that anything supernatural will occur during the event\, these things are beyond our control and you should prepare for the possibility that you may experience nothing out of the ordinary. \nThere are no effects or staged visitations of the supernatural. \nWe do however guarantee that your experience will be authentic and genuine\, and that if anything strange does occur\, it will be real.

SUMMARY:The inTrUDORS - Immersive Adventure Game Experience
DESCRIPTION:Step back in time to the 16th century\, where secrecy\, deception\, and survival intertwine in a high-stakes game of social deduction\, interactive drama and historic quest. Welcome to The inTrUDORS — a gripping immersive experience set within the atmospheric chambers and vast grounds of Samlesbury Hall\, a 14th-century manor with a dark\, turbulent past. \nIn this multi-layered 3.5-hour adventure\, 30 players are placed into two factions of unknown number: the Challengers who seek to evade the inTrUDORS\, and the inTrUDORS  who are bent on sabotaging their every move. But there’s a devilish twist: No one knows who’s who. The inTrUDORS blend seamlessly among the Challengers\, hidden in plain sight\, manipulating and sabotaging efforts to gather crucial information. Meanwhile\, the Challengers must rely on their wits and teamwork to solve puzzles\, unearth secrets\, and stay one step ahead in a race against time. \nThe game unfolds across three interactive role-playing Timeslips\, each one transporting you to a different time during the 16th century. Explore the shadowed corridors and hidden chambers of Samlesbury Hall\, encountering some of history’s most famous figures including Queen Elizabeth I\, William Shakespeare\, Matthew Hopkins\, Guy Fawkes and King Henry VIII. Each character poses cryptic riddles and challenges that hold the keys to progressing through the game. Solve their puzzles and gain the vital information needed to outwit your opponents — but failure could mean the loss of your chance at victory. \nIn The inTrUDORS time is your enemy… with each Timeslip\, the clock is counting down. The pressure builds as players rush to complete challenges before time runs out. For the Challengers\, survival means escaping the inTrUDORS‘ sabotage and securing the vital information they need. For the inTrUDORS\, it’s a race to stop the Challengers and claim victory by secretly ensuring the Challengers do not solve the clues and riddles in time. \nAt the climax of the game\, after three heart-pounding Timeslips\, both factions must confront the final End Game. Will the Challengers solve the ultimate enigma and become champions? Or will the inTrUDORS seize the moment and emerge victorious? \nPrepare for a gripping adventure where trust is non-existent\, strategy is paramount\, and every decision could tip the balance of power. Who will you trust? Who will you betray? In The inTrUDORS\, the lines between ally and adversary blur\, and time is not your only enemy…

SUMMARY:CAVEAT EMPTOR - A GHOST STORY FOR CHRISTMAS
DESCRIPTION:SAMLESBURY HALL UNVEILS ITS SIXTH IMMERSIVE GHOST STORY FOR CHRISTMAS \nFollowing the sold-out success of Charles Dickens’ Haunted House in 2025\, Samlesbury Hall announces its sixth annual Christmas ghost play: Caveat Emptor – A Ghost Story for Christmas\, premiering in December 2026. \nOnce again\, Lancashire’s most haunted hall becomes the setting for an immersive promenade performance. This year’s production draws on a classic tale by Edith Wharton\, reimagined specifically for the atmospheric rooms of the 14th-century manor. \nSharon Jones\, CEO of Samlesbury Hall\, said:\n“Christmas and ghost stories go hand in hand\, and over the past five years we’ve created a tradition audiences now expect and enjoy. As we approach our sixth year\, we’re excited to present a new production that remains family-friendly while still laced with unease.” \nRunning at 40 minutes\, the show guides audiences through the house as the story unfolds room by room\, using the building’s unique character to deepen the tension and the drama. \nCaveat Emptor is a newly written adaptation inspired by Wharton’s Afterward. An American family\, eager for a taste of English aristocracy\, purchases an old estate named Hobgrave Hall – only to discover that the property comes with a history that refuses to be ignored. What they inherit is far more than bricks and mortar. \nJason Karl of AtmosFEAR! Scare Entertainment\, producers of the show\, added:\n“In previous years\, we’ve explored everything from Samlesbury Hall’s Lady in White to Charles Dickens’ tales and a story by Montague Rhodes James. This time\, we’re widening the frame. It’s not just the house that’s haunted\, but the land itself – and the consequences of what once happened there.” \nPerformance Details\n• Dates: 14–21 December 2026\n• Showtimes: 6pm\, 7pm\, 8pm\, 9pm\n• Duration: 40 minutes\n• Location: Samlesbury Hall\, near Preston\, Lancashire\n• Tickets: £23 (+ booking fee)\, available exclusively online \nA Ghost Story for Christmas at Samlesbury Hall invites you to step into a ghost story that lingers long after the lights go down.  Book your tickets now \n
