We’re excited to unveil our latest culinary creation, the Star-Crossed Lovers Pie, now being served in The Garden Room Eatery. This limited-edition dish is inspired by one of Samlesbury Hall’s most tragic and romantic tales—the ill-fated love story of Lady Dorothea Southworth and Sir Richard, a handsome young knight from nearby Houghton Tower.
A Tale of Forbidden Love
The story behind the pie is as captivating as the flavors themselves. Lady Dorothea Southworth, a noblewoman from Samlesbury Hall, fell in love with Sir Richard, a knight from Houghton Tower. Their love, however, was forbidden due to differences in religion and family loyalties, marking them as true star-crossed lovers. The heartbreak and passion of their doomed romance is immortalized in this delicious creation.

Our Star-Crossed Lovers Pie was crafted to honor this bittersweet love story, with each ingredient carefully selected for its historical and symbolic relevance.
