PARKING ARRANGEMENTS
Our car park can accommodate up to 250 cars. Parking for coaches is also available if booked in advance. The car park is located approximately a quarter of a mile from the main Hall entrance, which can be accessed on foot via the main driveway. The driveway is smooth tarmac. There are no steps or stairs. A limited number of parking spaces in the car park have been set aside for Blue Badge holders. These are located directly in front of the Hall’s Fountain Courtyard, or outside the The Garden Room Eatery. Please note that Blue Badge Parking arrangements are very limited on event days.
DOGS
Well behaved dogs are welcome on the outdoor grounds of Samlesbury Hall, in The Garden Room Eatery and when staying in our Shepherd Huts and The Gatehouse accommodation. Assistance dogs only are permitted within the Hall itself.
ACCOMMODATION RECEPTION
This is located in Fountain Courtyard in number one Cottage, to the right as you enter. There is a small step to enter Reception, however the team will come out to greet you if you are unable to access.
TOILETS & BABY CHANGING FACILITIES
Toilet facilities are provided onsite. All toilets are on the ground floor level with no stairs. There is an accessible toilet in the main Hall, which is accessed via the Coffee Lounge doors (the first door on your right when you face the front of the Hall).
The Garden Room Eatery also has an accessible toilet for customers, which is situated to the right of the building as you enter.
Baby changing facilities can be found in each of the accessible toilets on site, please note there is no mat provided so we advise visitors to bring their own.
HISTORIC HOUSE
The Hall ground floor visitor areas are wheelchair accessible via tarmac pathways and a driveway. There are no steps or stairs. The main entrance is also accessible by motor vehicle drop off.
Due to the constraints of being a grade 1 listed heritage building, the first and second floors of the Hall are at present only accessible via a staircase. Some of the first-floor rooms are accessible via a self-operated stairlift, which is located in the Coffee Lounge.
Sunday Guided Tours all take place on the ground floor and upstairs, and the surfaces are polished wood floors. Other event Tours may include staircases.
GROUNDS
The majority of the grounds are on flat surfaces and are wheelchair accessible. The main areas are smooth tarmac, or large paving stones. There are some grassed areas. Fountain Courtyard is flat but has smaller cobbled sets, which can be navigated around.
THE GARDEN ROOM EATERY
The Garden Room Eatery is fully wheelchair accessible and can be found in the top car park. Entry is by a ramp. The main doors are quite heavy, and a member of the team would be delighted to open these for you if you are struggling, they are wide enough to fit a wheelchair. The Eatery is on one level and contains no steps. There is an accessible toilet for use by customers.
THE GATEHOUSE
The Gatehouse is on the ground floor however does need to be accessed via one step. Cars can be parked directly outside.
THE SHEPHERD’S HUTS HAMLET
The Shepherd’s Huts are accessed by two steps. Cars can be parked near to the huts but there is at least a 20 metre walk from your car to the hut, via a shale pathway.
We have one accessible Hut which can be accessed via a ramp and has a widened doorway. In this Hut there are no bunk beds, but there is a double bed. The shower room is a wet room providing more space. Cars can be parked outside this Hut, with a 20 metre walk from the car along a shale path.
